Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here!

You know when they say everything changes when you have kids. Well the change happened for me when I was pregnant with my daughter.

My mind body and soul shifted, and I jumped in with both feet!

Cook with me and Check out some of my family’s favourite recipes, some baby and pregnancy advice and how I keep my family happy and healthy the natural way.

Where am I from ?

I grew up in a little town in northern Canada with a population of about 20,000. My family had a small acreage which contained a small hobby farm. At different points of my childhood we had all different types of animals, from pigs, geese, goats, rabbits and turkeys, but we always had chickens, ducks, a horse or pony, and of course dogs and a cat.

My father was a very talented man, he milled all the wood from our property and built everything from a chicken coop to a full size barn and everything else in between.

My Mother growing up not only made dinner from scratch every single night, but had a green thumb. Her greenhouse was bigger than our house! I remember weeding the garden and thinking I would never be able to finish because it too was so large. She also had rows of beautiful flowers beds. I can still remember my favourite flower, the upside down hanging hearts.

Growing up on this hobby farm gave me so many skills that have helped me throughout my whole life.

Getting up in the morning and feeding the animals gave me compassion.

Clearing fields of debris and stacking firewood, that was hard work and in that gave me Good Work Ethic

Weeding the garden and planting and hilling potatoes made me grateful for delicious home grown organic food.

What I learned from all this is that, hard work isn’t hard if you love what you’re doing. That is what my parents taught me, they loved what they did and instilled that into me as well.

but enough about where Im from,

How Did I Get Here?

At 18 years old I decided to leave my little town and move to the big city population about 1,990,000. So with $500 in my pocket a suitcase and my pillow I jumped on the night greyhound bus to follow my dreams.

18 hours later I arrived and it was time to find a job. With my boots to the ground I walked down a busy street and handed out my resume to everyone and anyone. I landed my first job at a store making wraps at $7.25/hr, it was a 40 minute walk from my house but that didn’t seem to bother me at the time.

My Education

Over time College became a priority and I enrolled in a full-time 6 month course in aesthetics. This is where hard work came into play. During these six months I attended school from 8:00am – 4:00pm from there went to my new full-time job where I was an assistant manager from 5:30pm to 11:30pm.

But this didn’t seem like hard work at the time, I was enjoying myself and loved what I was doing. Knowing I had a goal to reach and I was going to get it, made it all worth it.

A few years later I was giving a client a pedicure and it downed on me.. I don’t want to “give” pedicures I want to “get” them, so off I went back to school. This time University for Business Accounting.

With that in my pocket I travelled across Canada for a couple years living in Quebec, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary, only to land up in a small town in British Columbia. Back to my small town roots once again.

Where Things Get Interesting

I got a job managing a small store that pulled in about $800,000 per year. I worked there for 8 years until I got pregnant with my daughter. When I left on my maternty leave the store was making in the millions. Through lots of hard work and constant idea building I grew that little store into something special.

Here I Am Today

So now here I am today, a wife, stay at home mom with a new passion or “project” if you will .. my BLOG! I am so excited to start this new journey with you. It’s already been a tremendous amount of work, but I love it. Im excited every day to reach my goals and to learn something new.

I know this is a new blog but my goal is to build it into a business that will hopefully help support my growing family. In a year from now I hope to come back to change this “about me” page and add in the success from the past year!
